Stone+tec 2018: First highlights confirmed

Participants at Stone+tec 2018 can look forward to a diverse exhibition programme with new areas of focus: In 2018, the largest exhibition for natural stone and stone processing technology in the German-speaking regions will launch with two new special shows for "Worktops" and "Native Stone". A new central forum will also provide a venue for lectures, award ceremonies and talks on the main themes of construction, monuments, gravestones and design. Stone+tec 2018 is set to take place in Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 13 to 16 June 2018.

Currently, two special shows are at the planning stage. "Our natural stone - working together for a sustainable future" is already promising to be a popular attraction and will give companies and quarry from throughout the German-speaking regions the chance to showcase native material as unfinished sheet and crafted objects. The second special show "Technology and chemistry for worktops" brings together all the elements that stonemasons need to successfully keep pace with trends in worktops. This show will also feature machinery for efficient stone cutting and resources for stone treatments like impregnation.

Clearly structured lecture programme
In a centrally located, newly designed forum in Hall 9, visitors can add to their specialist expertise during the entire fair. The forum will be home to panel discussions and presentations by companies, associations and innovative stone processors. The programme is divided into four thematic tracks – construction, monuments, gravestones and design, so that stonemasons, architects, stone processors and other interested parties can easily find the presentations that best meet their personal interests.

Trade fair for the stone community
With its comprehensive supporting programme, the exhibition aims not just to be a marketplace for the latest tools and technologies but also to provide a platform for meeting like-minded professionals and garnering new ideas. "Stone+tec 2018 is about inspiration, knowledge transfer and dialogue. It's where the stone community from the German-speaking region and neighbouring countries comes together to jointly navigated the trends and future opportunities for their market, " explains Beate Fischer, Exhibition Director Stone+tec at NürnbergMesse. "Together with our partners, especially our honorary sponsors BIV (Association of German Stonemasons) and DNV (German Natural Stone Association), we are currently developing a vibrant programme and incorporating those issues which really matter to the industry."

For architects, stone at its finest
Several awards and competitions at Stone+tec are putting the spotlight on outstanding natural stone creations and therefore showcasing stone at its very best. During the event, the German Natural Stone Association (DNV) will once again present the German Natural Stone Award and at the same time host a lecture programme and exhibition tours specifically for architects with a preference for natural stone. In addition, young stonemasons will put their skills to the test live at Stone+tec in the young talent competition organised by the Association of German Stonemasons (BIV).

The next Stone+tec will take place from 13 to 16 June 2018 in Nuremberg. Interested exhibitors can currently enjoy an early bird discount to register for the 20th round of this long-established trade fair.
