Hochtief receives building construction contracts in Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia

At year-end, Hochtief Building received new contracts in Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia worth more than EUR 100 million.

For Otec, Hochtief will design and build "Werk 4", a 24-story hotel and hostel complex on the former Pfanni production premises close to Munich's East railway station. The new building will be constructed directly on and around a former potato silo that continues to be used as a climbing hall. The hotel complex will include a 4-star hotel with 230 rooms and a swimming pool as well as a hostel with 133 rooms in the mid-price segment. It has been leased to Australian hotel group Adina. The project in the Werksviertel district is scheduled to be completed by spring 2020.

In Duisburg, Hochtief Building will construct the new State Agency for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection NRW (LANUV) on behalf of Aurelis. The project comprises a five-story office building and a six-story laboratory building, interconnected by a bridge. The new-builds are located in the newly developed "Quartier 1" section of the "Duisburger Freiheit" site in the direct vicinity of Duisburg Main Station. The project is scheduled for completion by November 2018. Both buildings seek Gold certification by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).

At Ruhr University Bochum, Hochtief already executes its third project in succession. After two buildings for the engineering faculty, Hochtief will now deliver the future Center for interface-dominated high-performance materials (ZGH) on behalf of Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb NRW, a real estate company of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, by September 2018. On five stories with more than 7, 000 square meters of gross floor area, the center will mostly house laboratories. Completion of the project is scheduled for September 2018.
