BAM PPP-PGGM consortium reaches financial close on A94 Forstinning-Marktl in Germany

The project company Isentalautobahn GmbH & Co. KG, consisting of BAM-PGGM, Eiffage and Berger Bau, together with Autobahndirektion Südbayern (ABDSB) have reached financial close on the Availability Model A94 Forstinning-Marktl in Germany. The total project volume is around €1.1 billion.

The project involves the design, construction, financing and maintenance of the Availability Model A94 which comprises 33 km of greenfield motorway construction with four lanes including hard shoulder between Pastetten and Heldenstein. In addition to the construction of the new motorway the contract also includes the maintenance and the operation of the 77 km long motorway section of the A94 between Forstinning (near Munich) and Marktl (including the newly built section between Pastetten and Heldenstein).

Construction activities will be carried out by BAM's German civil engineering company Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau in cooperation with Berger Bau and Arge Eiffage VI 1 (Wittfeld, Faber Bau, Heinrich Walter Bau). Construction will commence 1 February 2016 with completion expected on 31 October 2019. Maintenance will be provided by a special purpose company consisting of BAM PPP Deutschland, Berger Bau and Eiffage Bau during the 30 years project period.

The financing structure is long term bank funding. The banks involved are the European Investment Bank, KfW IPEX Bank, DZ Bank, DekaBank and Bayerische Landesbank The equity investors are BAM-PGGM Infrastructure Coöperatie U.A., Berger Bau and Eiffage.

Consultants include legal advisers DLA Piper (Sponsors) and Allen & Overy (Lenders) as well as the financial adviser Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.
