Ferrovial subsidiary awarded contract to maintain Yorkshire’s waste water network

UK water company Yorkshire Water has chosen Amey to repair and maintain its waste water network. The contract, worth 113 million pounds (155 million euro), runs until 2020 with the possibility of a 5-year extension.

Under the project, which comes into force in September this year, Amey will take charge of maintaining a network of over 20,000 miles (over 32,000 kilometres) of sewer pipe that serves close to two million households in Yorkshire, in north-east England.

The contract expands Amey's position in services to utilities; it already works for seven utilities in Scotland, Wales and north and central England, serving over 23 million end users.
