Dialogue platform for heat pump technology and future trends

The fourth European Heat Pump Summit – the meeting place for the international heat pump sector – will take place in Nuremberg on 20 and 21 October 2015. Its focus is to foster professional dialogue on current developments, research results and trends in the field of heat pumps. The event also presents information specifically about the European heat pump market. The conference language is English.

"In the intervening year between Chillventa trade fairs, the lure of the high-calibre presentations and workshops at the European Heat Pump Summit once again gathers the combined expertise of the heat pump sector at one location. The international experts who come to Nuremberg use the event for in-depth sharing of knowhow and information. The event has a broad scope, from industrial and commercial applications for heat pumps to residential construction, hybrid systems or components, " says Alexander Stein, Head of Events at NürnbergMesse.

Knowledge transfer at the highest standard
The European Heat Pump Summit concentrates on diversity and in-depth expertise. Some of the main topics to be explored by this year's event include current market data and developments in the various countries as well as the challenges presented by the prevailing European energy policy. The summit will also look at the significance for the heat pump industry of German and other European laws and regulations such as the Eco-Design Directive.

With its wide range of topics, the European Heat Pump Summit creates a bridge from the present to the future of the heat pump. One highlight will be a series of lectures presenting the latest results from the ongoing research initiative of the International Energy Agency's Heat Pump Programme (IEA-HPP).

The symposium will provide congress delegates with practical knowhow and comprehensive technical information on component development, the combination of heat pumps with solar to support the smart electricity grids of the future and for nZEB (net zero energy) buildings, heat pump test rigs and heat pump certification.

The wide-ranging programme will also cover hybrid use, i.e. the simultaneous use of the system's hot and cold sides and the combination of heat pump with gas boiler.

The European Heat Pump Summit is already out of the starting blocks; international heat pump experts have already submitted a large number of abstracts on the following topics:
Potential for heat pumps in various markets
Challenges due to European regulations
Components and product development (compressors, fans, heat exchangers, controls, refrigerants)
Heat pumps for commercial and industrial application and use of waste heat
Heat pump application in nZEB
Large scale absorption heat pumps for e.g. district heating applications
Solar thermal and heat pumps in combination
Fuel driven heat pumps
Heat pump testing and certification
Innovative systems and outlook on the future

Foyer-Expo: product information and professional dialogue
Once again, the Foyer-Expo is a fitting complement to the European Heat Pump Summit and puts the spotlight on the latest products and innovations from the exhibiting companies. "The initial response from companies after sending out the exhibitor documentation has been very good. Six months before the summit starts, numerous exhibitors have already committed to attend or get involved as sponsors, " says Daniela Heinkel, Project Consultant, European Heat Pump Summit, NürnbergMesse.

The European Heat Pump Summit is designed for professionals from science and industry, planners, energy consultants and operators of municipal, commercial and industrial properties. The Heat Pump Summit's combination of high-calibre conference programme and Foyer-Expo, and the two-yearly Chillventa trade fair, which also comprehensively covers the topic of heat pumps, are what make Nuremberg the Heat Pump City.
