Innovation, design, sustainability and building renovation; pillars of BBB–Construmat 2015

Beyond Building Barcelona-Construmat laid the foundations for its next edition. Aspects such as innovation, design, sustainability and building renovation will be the main areas featured in Fira de Barcelona's International Building Show which is set to take place in Hall 3 of the Gran Via exhibition centre from 19 to 23 May. There will also be building projects from Spain and other countries at Contract Forum, an initiative introduced at the 2013 edition which aims to become consolidated as one of the event's major attractions.

The Innovation area will present the latest in materials and building processes, from house building using 3D printers to construction using robots, as well as a panel of prestigious speakers. Issues such as digital design, BIM, domotics and entrepreneurship will also be featured in this part of the show.
Another major area is design, called Living Concept, with the latest trends and new ways of living. The stars here will be the home, work and retail, along with a series of seminars that will be held in the Meeting areas and Speakers' Corner of Beyond Building Barcelona-Construmat.

Building renovation and sustainability will also be on the agenda at Fira's International Building Show. In regard to renovation, there will be awareness-raising activities aimed at professionals and the general public, while the sustainability area will feature local, national and international initiatives as examples of more sustainable construction in terms of energy efficiency.

National and International Contract Forum completes the offer of this latest edition of Beyond Building Barcelona-Construmat with new build or building renovation projects for homes, offices and hotels. So far, 60 initiatives have been confirmed from Spain and 80 from countries such as Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Cuba, Peru and Argentina.

The Organisers' aim is to make 200 national and foreign projects available to the companies taking part in BBB–Construmat so that they can offer their products and services. Such is the rate at which confirmations are arriving that the show's management believes this figure will only increase in the coming months.
