Savills partners with Agence Varenne in Paris

Savills has formed a new association with Paris-based real estate agent Agence Varenne, one of the leading property firms specialising in the high-end Parisian market.

Created in 1991 by Hugues de la Morandière and Guy Bécheau, Agence Varenne has remained loyal to its neighbourhood of choice: the Left Bank, and through its growth, to the historic neighbourhoods that are the most sought after in the capital. In 1993, Guilhem Carvès joined the two founders, bringing with him his prized expertise as an architect. The company has two offices in the 6th and 7th arrondissments.

Rupert Sebag-Montefiore, head of global residential, Savills, said, "Paris remains, after London, the most important destination for high end residential buyers in Europe. So to ally our global distribution and brand to Agence Varenne's local expertise will be a strong mix. Savills already has a successful commercial office in the city, and so the relationship between the Corporate and Private sides of our business in Paris will also be important."

Hugues de la Morandière, founding partner, Agence Varenne, said, "I sum up our vision as follows: 'Play local, think global'. We maintain our Left Bank roots with an expert knowledge of its micro-markets, by striving for excellence in advice given, and through remaining faithful to its independent spirit all the while developing a strategy and a network that is resolutely international."
