Technological upgrade is running across the cities in SE Europe

The process of 'Smarting up' the cities is at its early stage in South-East Europe. Targets for low carbon economy and higher resource efficiency encourage businesses and municipalities in the Region to speed up their investments in the energy and transport sector, buildings and infrastructure.

Smart Cities Exhibition and Conferece for SEE (11-13 March 2015, Bulgaria) will promote technologies and experience in sustainable urban development and will allow for customer-supplier interaction concerning options for collaboration.

Companies that have recently joined the Exhibition:

Alvarion Ltd. - manufacturer of network products, TD-LTE and Wi-Fi. It offers a wide range of products in both unlicensed and licensed bands enabling connectivity anytime and anywhere, allowing customers to expand their network and subscriber base.
MMG has more than 20 years of experience in design and installation of IT systems for automation and security. It will present MMG cyber system, based on components of leading producers: Mobotix, Cardin and Loxone.

Atics will promote ICONICS software solutions that can visualize, analyze and mobilize real-time information for any application and on any device.

Veldim – 1 Ltd. is a producer of access control, video surveillance, security, parking and building automation systems under its own brand. The company can also develop a software that integrates all components into one. It was selected as the general contractor of the security systems for the Courthouse in Kosovo.

Andres Jaadla will make a presentation of the Green Growth of Rakvere - Smart and Green City of Estonia
To achieve green and smart growth in Rakvere in 2009 Rakvere accepted Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) and set goals like: Green street lighting; District heating from fossil fuels to biofuels and insulation; Heat consumption-efficient use in municipal and residental buildings; City planning; Urban transport- from fossil fuels to biofuels.

In 2010 Rakvere was one of the 6 nominees for the Sustainable Energy Awards and in 2013 was chosen as one of the best EU Urban Solutions. At the moment, they have started to build a competence center which will be Estonia´s first nearly zero energy building and is going to be built in BIM technology. The new building will be ready in 2015.
