DGNB awards "Gold" to hall 3A at NürnbergMesse

A great honour for NürnbergMesse: Hall 3A has now been awarded the highest category of Gold by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB – German Sustainable Building Council) as the first exhibition hall in the world to receive this award. So NürnbergMesse CEOs, Dr. Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann, are sure: "We already knew from the outstanding response of our customers that hall 3A is a real architectural pearl and a major pillar of our growth strategy for exhibition business. That we are now also the leader in energy efficiency and certified by DGNB makes us really proud!" The DGNB certificate combines economic, technical and ecological parameters and aspects of sociocultural sustainability.

Of the over 600 properties certified by DGNB so far, hall 3A in the "Assembly buildings" category is thus one of the best projects in the world. Johannes Kreißig, Executive Board of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB e.V.), emphasizes the importance of this certification: "Today economy and ecology are no longer a contradiction in terms. Hall 3A of NürnbergMesse is currently the best example that exhibition halls in the 21st century can look really attractive and be highly energy-efficient at the same time."

The reasons for this high degree of recognition lie in the comprehensive sustainability concept used in the construction of the hall, which DGNB demands: The heating supply for 3A is climate-neutral thanks to the use of district heating, rotary heat exchangers achieve maximum values of heat recovery, and LED lights ensure that excellent conditions prevail on the exhibition stands and that the tremendous potential for saving energy is also utilized.
