Atkins appoints Group managing director, Major Projects

Atkins has made a new strategic appointment to further strengthen its delivery of major projects around the world.

Phil Todd joins the company from Fluor, as Group managing director, Major Projects, and will report directly to Donald Lawson who is a member of the Atkins senior leadership team.

A proven leader of complex infrastructure programmes in both the public and private sectors, Phil has led programmes at all stages; from strategic planning to execution, delivering large-scale rail and infrastructure development programmes in the UK, Europe and most recently in the Middle East.

Phil will lead the Major Projects unit enhancing project and programme capability across Atkins' businesses to support the efficient and effective delivery of projects for clients.

Atkins' chief executive officer, Prof Dr Uwe Krueger, said: "The appointment of a Group Major Projects director is a strategically important step for Atkins as we look to increase our focus on winning and delivering large and complex projects. We welcome Phil, who brings a wealth of experience to Atkins."

Phil and his team will hold an international brief in line with Atkins' portfolio of major projects around the world.
