Morgan Sindall Group wins multiple CCS Awards

Morgan Sindall Group has demonstrated best practice across its divisions by achieving no less than 48 wins in the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards 2014, the most of any participating contractors.

CCS aims to improve the image of the construction industry by promoting high standards in a number of areas including; respect for the community, protecting the environment, securing everyone's safety and valuing the site workforce. Of the 48 winning projects, 38 came from Morgan Sindall, 5 came from Lovell, 4 came from Overbury and 1 came from Morgan Lovell.

Morgan Sindall wins included 2 Runner-Up Awards for the prestigious Most Considerate Site category, 5 Gold Awards, 19 Silver Awards and 12 bronze. The Most Considerate Site Runner-Up Awards went to Phase One of the Fulston Manor School and C512 Whitechapel Main Station Works projects. A total of 38 wins has placed Morgan Sindall at the top of the CCS contractors' league, outperforming the field in terms of the number of awards won by a single contractor.

Lovell's achievements included 1 Bronze Award, 3 Silver Awards and 1 Performance Beyond Compliance Certificate; an additional level of reward for performance in excess of compliance. The Silver honours came from the Old Caerphilly Miners Hospital, Exford Drive and Northampton Decent Homes projects, and the Performance Beyond Compliance Certificate was awarded to the LilAC Housing Scheme in Leeds.

With 2 Bronze Award and 2 Silvers, Overbury's top accolades were presented to the King's College London and Npower Solihull developments. Morgan Lovell accomplished its 1 award through its Berkley House project, achieving the Bronze standard.

With a total of 36 wins in last year's awards (2013), this year's achievement shows a significant improvement in site performance across the country, fulfilling the Group's Total Commitment and approach to Community Engagement, delivering projects which leave a positive impression on all the people involved.

The CCS National Site Awards 2014 took place between the 24th March and the 11th April, with 12 ceremonies taking place in Edinburgh, Manchester and London.
