Ramboll acquires consultant within urban planning and landscape architecture

As of 1 March 2014 Ramboll takes over the architectural practice GBL. The company, comprising 11 employees specialised in urban and landscape planning, is founded in 1962 and has decades of experience offering consultancy services within landscape architecture and sustainable urban development.

The development of the cities calls for a holistic view on what makes them work well and attractive to live in. Landscape architecture and planning of city environments play a key role in urban development projects and within these areas GBL will bring important knowledge to Ramboll.

Ramboll and GBL have worked together for several years and the company's focus on architectural quality and sustainable aspects has made it interesting for Ramboll to make the collaboration permanent.

GBL holds strong project references with for instance master planning and renovations of disadvantaged residential areas, planning of new urban areas and urban transformation as well as design of urban spaces. Over the years, GBL has received many acclaims and architectural awards. Most recently in 2013 where they received the Architectural Award of the Municipality of Kolding for the landscape of Christiansfeld School and the skater park in Klosterparken in Kolding.

The current location of GBL is at Pakhustorvet in Kolding. In March 2014 all employees will be moved to the Ramboll office in Vejle where they will become part of a new department for Urban Development and Landscape.
