Vinci wins new contract for new rail link across London - Crossrail

Taylor Woodrow, a division of Vinci Construction UK, has been awarded the design and build contract for the upgrade and refurbishment of 13 stations and one accommodation block along the western section of the new high frequency, high capacity railway for London and the South East. This project, worth £98 mln (€115 mln), will start immediately for a completion date in 2018.

Vinci and its UK subsidiaries are already undertaking significant works for Crossrail across London including: construction of the Liverpool Street and Whitechapel Crossrail station tunnels and associated works, the demolition of the existing Whitechapel station, including the construction of a new station, ticket hall, and platform upgrades and the upgrade of Tottenham Court Road Tube station which includes a new Crossrail eastern ticket hall structure.

Crossrail is the largest engineering project in Europe and provides a new rail link across London. Once completed, it will connect Canary Wharf, the City, the West End and Heathrow Airport to commuter areas east and west of London.
