| Perimeter solid and hidden vent soffit  CertainTeed Corporation is expanding its industry-leading exterior building product line with the introduction of a new, aesthetically pleasing solid and hidden vent soffit. The uniquely designed Perimeter soffit offers a smooth, flat non-perforated surface, which provides a balance of beauty and improved airflow performance. It is available in Triple 3 1/3-inch solid and hidden vent styles and comes in a wide range of 14 low-gloss colors. CertainTeed is now the only manufacturer to offer two hidden vent soffit options — the premium InvisiVent for a thicker, larger projection and optimum airflow, and Perimeter, a more economical version with better airflow."We are seeing a rebound in the new construction market and wanted to be certain to equip builders with a cost-effective hidden vent solution for those on a tight budget," says Brian Kirn, product manager for CertainTeed Siding. "All of our customers now have the opportunity to properly ventilate without having to look at unsightly perforations. Compared to competitive products, Perimeter also features a much higher net-free airflow — resulting in better roof ventilation." Perimeter soffit is available in a 5/8-inch projection, .040-inch thickness and can be used with any type of CertainTeed vinyl, polymer shake or fiber cement siding. The solid version can be installed as either a solid soffit or vertical siding. The hidden vent style provides up to 9.65 inches of net-free intake area for proper roof ventilation. Designed for ease of installation, Perimeter soffit panels feature a post-formed lock popular with installers for its locking assurance and trouble-free handling. Perimeter soffit is produced using CertaVin custom-formulated PVC resin, and features a Class 1(A) fire rating and a lifetime, limited warranty.
