SNC-Lavalin awarded important training project in Morocco

Canada's SNC-Lavalin (TSX: SNC) has been awarded a contract by Groupe OCP S.A., a global leader in phosphates extraction and transformation, to provide an integrated company-wide training program covering all operations and maintenance, from mining to concentration (washing), sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid, fertilizer production and utilities. OCP has several large mines, process plants and shipping ports throughout Morocco, employs approximately 19, 000 people and is the world's largest exporter of phosphates.

SNC-Lavalin's Global Training & Simulation (GTS) Centre will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering standardized training to all personnel through the use of advanced training technologies, such as computer-based training (e-Learning) and operator training simulators (mobile equipment and process plants). GTS will also serve as the integrator to third-party experts for various components of the program. The training program will be delivered in four large new training centres currently being built by OCP. Through built-in training scenarios, process plant operators will learn to work in routine and non-routine situations and improve their troubleshooting and decision-making skills.

Development and initial deployment have commenced at SNC-Lavalin's offices in Montreal and Casablanca and are expected to conclude by the end of the third quarter of 2014.
