Atkins scoops Consultant of the Year 2012 Award

Atkins was recognised for its outstanding contribution to the Middle East's built environment sector after being named Consultant of the Year by respected industry magazine Construction Week.

An independent judging panel of industry experts rewarded Atkins for its demonstrable ability to enhance projects and to contribute to the success of its clients, describing the company as 'committed to adding value'. They also acknowledged the company's commitment to developing the application of technologies such as BIM, while investing to put high calibre expertise into key growth markets such as Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In the past 12 months, Atkins has seen strong headcount growth to more than 2,000 people across the Middle East. The company has won, and is delivering, strategically important, high profile projects which are critical to the region's long-term development. These include the Central Planning Office in Doha, where Atkins' technical expertise is playing a key role in helping to prioritise, co-ordinate and deliver Qatar's multiple infrastructure programmes on schedule for the FIFA 2022 World Cup and beyond, helping to realise the State's National 2030 Vision.
