Atkins announces triple success at Middle East MEP Awards

Design and engineering firm WS Atkins scooped three top accolades at the Middle East Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Awards 2012, winning honours including Consultancy of the Year for the fifth time in six years.

In addition, MEP engineering design director Lee Hall was named Project Manager of the Year, while Yas Waterworld won the Overall GCC Project of the Year award, which Atkins picked up alongside MEP contractor Voltas.

Held at The Westin hotel in Dubai, more than 200 industry figures packed the banquet hall to applaud the achievements of contractors, consultants, individuals, project teams and suppliers in each of the 12 categories.

Judges praised Atkins for its 'involvement in the region's most significant projects', and also for its 'remarkable experience in the Gulf and worldwide'.

The MEP awards are judged by an independent panel of industry experts, with particular focus on recognising achievements at project and company level. They were established to recognise the organisations that design and install the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, which are fundamental to development in the Middle East.
