Pöyry appointed responsible for railway network maintenance management also in Western Finland

Finland-based engineering firm Pöyry said its Urban business group has been awarded an assignment for maintenance management of Western Finland railway network by the Finnish Transport Agency. Pöyry has managed the network already during 2005-2012. The assignment also includes the rent collection of the facilities owned by Finnish Transport Agency in Finland.

The work starts in the beginning of 2013. The duration of the assignment is five years and the value for Pöyry is approximately EUR 5.0 million, which will be booked in the fourth quarter order stock of 2012. The contract includes an extension option for two years maximum.

In the beginning of October, Pöyry was awarded the contract for Eastern Finland rail network management. The company is also managing the maintenance of Northern Finland rail network. The content of the new assignment is similar: in addition to the rent collection in the country, it covers the maintenance management of railways, rail structures and equipment, land areas and buildings administered by the Finnish Transport Agency in Western Finland. The total length of the network is approximately 1400 km. The management services cover various technical, economical, administrative and safety-related tasks.
