Successful Chillventa 2012 ends

Chillventa 2012 ended after three successful days with a record number of 9151) companies from 43 countries, 28,4621) trade visitors and 200 congress participants. From 9–11 October, Nürnberg was the hub of the international refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump community for the third time. Chillventa Congressing started as usual the day before the exhibition with top speakers from all over the world and a first-class conference programme. The new Chairman of the Exhibition Committee was elected as scheduled on the third day of the exhibition.

High degree of internationality– the world at Chillventa
The high degree of internationality among the exhibitors and visitors in 2012 impressively confirms the importance of the event for the global refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump industry. So Chillventa more than lives up to its role as most important refrigeration exhibition with air conditioning and heat pumps.
The exhibiting companies came from 43 countries, which equates to an international share of 65 per cent. The main countries were Italy, China, Great Britain, Turkey, France, the USA and Spain. China, the USA, Turkey and Thailand presented an additional compact display of their products and services in their country pavilions.
56 per cent of the 28,462 visitors came from abroad. This is also an excellent figure, which is another rise over the previous event.

Very positive exhibitor feedback
Chillventa has established itself as leading exhibition. A majority of the exhibiting companies used the exhibition as a platform to present their new products to the sector. More than 83 per cent of the exhibitors presented innovative new products or improvements to the experts.
Nine out of ten exhibitors confirmed during the exhibition that they will exhibit again in 2014.
The reasons for this positive feedback are, for example: 92 per cent of the exhibitors made new business contacts at the exhibition and some 95 per cent of them reached their major target groups. Nine out of ten companies are very satisfied or satisfied with the number of visitors at Chillventa 2012. More than 90 per cent of the companies taking part in Chillventa rated the new opening days of the exhibition favourably.

High quality of visitors: focus on decision-makers
The exhibitors constantly highly praised the high quality and expertise of the Chillventa visitors. The majority come from research, development and design, or from manufacturing, production and quality control, sales, distribution, purchasing and procurement. The installation and maintenance contractors were also well represented with more than a fifth of the total visitors. 87 per cent of the visitors are involved in the decision-making process in their company in an active or advisory capacity.

Chillventa Congressing – concentrated expert knowledge
Chillventa Congressing took place for the third time the day before Chillventa 2012 and attracted 200 participants, 64 per cent of them from abroad. 30 international presentations organized by the associations ASHRAE, ASERCOM, EHPA, EPEE, IEA-HPP and ZVKKW provided concentrated knowledge on current topics from research, development and practice and on the political framework.
ASERCOM and EPEE showed the EU roadmaps for the AC & R industry and discussed the demand for joint industry activities. Other topical issues at this symposium were Ecodesign and the F-Gas Regulation.
The ASHRAE Workshops in 2012 dealt with the latest developments in "Energy Reduction in Data Centers" and "Designing Towards Net Zero Energy in Buildings".
EHPA offered intensive coverage of the possibilities offered by heat pumps and the German initiative "Heat Pumps in Smart Grids". IEA-HPP organized 15 presentations that comprehensively described the current global status of heat pump research and development. The USA, Japan, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and Germany showed multi-faceted topics: heat pumps in cold climate regions, industrial heat pump trends, heat pumps for nZEBs, thermal storage systems, high-quality installation and maintenance of heat pumps, and heat pumps for large commercial buildings, to mention only a few.

ZVKKW dealt with Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB) with presentations from the USA, Switzerland, Belgium and Germany. This subject is very important especially for the air conditioning and heat pump segment in the near future and describes the possible strong growth and the challenge facing the industries.

Chillventa Congressing was rounded off with four presentations, each of which provided a concentrated overview of the individual symposia. The participants and speakers used the get-together on the Chillventa Congressing evening for intensive talks and for networking. Here it was also a question of Chillventa Connecting Experts.

Forums in the exhibition halls – companies provide know-how
The forums in halls 1, 4A and 7 offered first-hand information and practical knowledge on refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps at more than 100 presentations.
The focus in hall 1 was on training, standards and refrigeration and air conditioning applications. TÜV-SÜD organized the Cleanroom Forum.
