Shining bright: introducing the e3co Star

Fläkt Woods has enhanced its range of high performing energy recovery units with the addition of the new e3co Star. Available in six models with flow rates from 0.08 to 1.00 m3/s and specific fan powers as low as 0.17 w/l/s, the new cost-effective unit utilises a Eurovent certified aluminium heat exchanger to provide efficiencies of up to 70% - perfect for schools, offices, sports centres and hospitals. Additional benefits include extremely low noise levels thanks to using 25 mm mineral wool insulation, user friendly plug and play controls, as well as fans with EC motor technology to deliver reduced energy consumption.

As standard, all e3co Star models are fitted with pre-set controls, this allows service engineers to quickly configure air flow modulation and optimise energy usage. It also has intelligent energy saving functions built-in, including night cooling, frost protection, temperature control and low temperature defrost. Plus, to simplify building integration, controls have full BMS capability, via an open table modbus BMS protocol.

All e3co Star units incorporate a new optimised component design layout, including a side mounted condensation drainage point, which results in better performance, in a reduced height format, making them ideal for installation into ceiling voids. And maintenance and inspection is made easy as access panels are also side mounted.

To give Specifiers a wider choice of system configurations, the e3co Star range is available in three variants. The entry level e3ssential is supplied with factory fitted plate heat exchanger and filters, while the e3nhanced additionally incorporates a water or electric post heater. Finally the e3lite adds an electric pre-heater. All models have an integrated bypass damper, providing a 100% heat exchanger bypass capability.

Andy Cardy, Fläkt Woods, said: "Energy recovery units are becoming ever more popular in commercial applications, where the e3co Star offers Specifiers, building owners and occupiers a great opportunity to reduce a building's energy usage. We've also designed our new product using the latest computer analysis software, which has not only helped us to optimise air flow, but also ensures that it performs consistently to deliver the required recovery efficiency and indoor air quality."
