ECE fund acquires Haid Center near Linz from Inter IKEA Centre Group

The ECE European Prime Shopping Centre Fund acquired the "Haid Center" in the municipality Haid near Linz / Austria from the Inter IKEA Centre Group A/S. The Haid Center, opened in 1991 and expanded in 2000 and 2008, provides around 80 shops on a sales area of more than 35,000 m². The anchor tenants include Maximarkt, Sports Experts, Saturn, H&M, C&A, Humanic, and New Yorker as well as Toys'R'Us. Directly next to the center is an IKEA furnishing house. For the 600,000 residents in the catchment area of the established center are 1,700 free parking spaces available. The center is conveniently located at the motorway A1 and the B139 and is easily accessible with public transport as well.

Management and leasing of the center are taken over by ECE. Vienna's EHL served as an advisor preparing the transaction. The center management employees are all taken over. Hans Koini remains the Center Manager, he has been managing the center since 2007.

With the acquisition and the management takeover, ECE once again is strengthening is position in Austria. ECE Austria already operates City-Arkaden Klagenfurt, DEZ Innsbruck as well as BahnhofCity Vienna West. As of 2014, the management of BahnhofCity Vienna Central Station will be taken over as well. At Vienna's central station, ECE is furthermore planning a hotel as well as an office building.
