Chillventa Rossija 2013: all set for success

Chillventa Rossija is preparing itself for its third edition: from 5th to 7th February 2013 it will be held once again at the Moscow Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre. The fair covers the entire spectrum of refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump technology for commercial and industrial applications. The concept consisting of trade fair with international exhibitor participation and top-ranking participants in the congress programme is a success: the response of the exhibitors and trade visitors at the previous events clearly underlines this.

After two very successful events in 2011 and 2012, even at this stage, the prospects for the third Chillventa Rossija are excellent, according to the organizer NürnbergMesse. In addition to refrigeration and air-conditioning technology, in 2013 the fair managers are directing the attention of the Russian trade world towards the heat pump. In the area specifically set up for heat pumps, the Heat Pump Pavilion, international companies will be presenting themselves with their products and services according to specific themes. "The demand for heat pumps is enjoying great unbroken popularity in Russia – both for the industry as well as for the commercial sector", explains Frank Venjakob, Director Exhibitions at NürnbergMesse.

Council of Experts with top-ranking members sets the themes

In June 2012, under the direction of Prof. A. V. Baranenko, President of the International Academy of Refrigeration, and Rector at the St Petersburg State University of Refrigeration and Food Engineering, the Chillventa Rossija 2013 Council of Experts came together for its first session with the aim of approving the themes for the conference programme. In 2013 the Chillventa Rossija Council of Experts is banking on innovations, ecological themes and energy-saving solutions. The aim is to promote know-how transfer and offer the sector professionals on the participants' and speakers' side a professional dialogue platform.

Council of Experts explains the new conference concept

Environmental protection and sustainability are key themes on the agenda for many nations. By 2050 a reduction in energy requirements by 40% and a reduction in CO2 emissions by one third are expected. In order to achieve this, the green or clean energies have to be constantly further developed. A key contribution is made here by the refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump sector. Already at this stage the investments in this sector are reaching record-breaking levels.

Refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump technology plays a key role in guaranteeing the food supply for the population and many technological processes in all areas of the Russian economy - including key sectors such as agriculture, construction, trade, the energy industry, industrial production, transport or the fisheries industry.

What many industrial countries had more than 20 years to achieve, happened in Russia in just three years: the drawing up of a set of regulations and guidelines for energy efficiency. The race against time in just these few years led to weaknesses in the regulations, according to the Report by the Centre for Efficient Energy Utilization published in 2012.

The country's refrigeration industry is also in need of improvement and optimization. In this connection for example, in the industry the energy efficiency measures only apply to the energy audit. In order to move forward the modernization of Russian industry and to improve the regulations and norms which contribute to promoting the development of the refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump technologies, it is important to show the potential within the sector. This involves among others the improvement of energy efficiency, ecological safety and the preservation and maintaining of natural resources. The implementation of this potential will make a key contribution to solving the country's strategic problems.

Framework of the conference

Based on these requirements, the Council of Experts has approved the following framework for the conference, which will be held under the title "Refrigeration industry for food, energy and ecological safety". The conference covers five theme blocks.

Plenary conference

Conceptional lectures

Heat pumps

Industrial heat pumps for more energy-efficient production processes: Heating/cooling in technical processes; water heating for rinsing/cleaning; steam production, drying and steaming processes among others

Energy-efficient systems for building automation and services: The focal point: complex solutions for passive housing and zero-energy buildings using solar cooling and heat pumps

Refrigeration and air-conditioning systems

Increasing the energy efficiency of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems: Presentation of new products/innovations in the mechanical engineering sector (compressors, heat exchanger systems, automation, insulation, etc.)
Practical realization of energy-efficient and sustainable projects in industry, agriculture, the commercial sector, public sector and municipalities: use of ecologically-safe working materials, reduced use of refrigerants for refrigeration systems, binary ice for cooling and air-conditioning, introduction of technologies for recovering and reprocessing heat and free cooling

Server and clean rooms

Presentation of modern solutions for the realization of server and clean rooms: In order to move forward the course striven for by the Russian government aimed at the development of mechanical engineering, electronics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals etc., modern-equipped server and clean rooms must be set up.

Young engineers

In 2013 this theme block is already being held for the third time. The young engineers, who had their say at the first conference, are today for the most part employed in Russian companies. For next year's conference participants too this will once again be a first step on the path to a successful professional career. Here companies are to be offered the opportunity to secure the best skilled staff directly at the event.
