Bilfinger Berger publishes first sustainability report

German construction giant Bilfinger Berger has published a sustainability report for the first time, thus strengthening its profile as an important provider of sustainable products and services. At the same time, the Group is one of the first companies listed on the MDAX to issue a declaration of compliance with the German Sustainability Code. In the report, Bilfinger Berger presents both its range of services to increase the sustainability of industrial facilities, power plants and real estate as well as its own contribution to the conservation of resources and the improvement of social conditions.

"The majority of Bilfinger Berger's services are provided in the area of sustainability", explains Roland Koch, Chief Executive Officer of Bilfinger Berger. "In the future, as part of our strategic positioning, we intend to emphasize this to an even greater degree. Our first Sustainability Report represents an important step in that direction." As part of its sustainability strategy, Bilfinger Berger wants to position itself as a key provider of products and services that enhance environmental friendliness and energy efficiency.

As a company that acts sustainably, Bilfinger Berger also believes that it has a responsibility to its employees, to the environment and to society as a whole. The company maintains a diverse range of programs to promote its employees, to support social activities in the areas of education, culture, sport and youth and to expand internal environmental management systems that minimize the ecological impact of its business. As part of the company's sustainability strategy, commitment in these areas will be developed on an ongoing basis, sustainability in the internal structures and processes will be further strengthened and the reporting system will be systematically expanded.
