Thyssenkrupp Elevator’s gearless system chosen as top pick by Buildings magazine

ThyssenKrupp Elevator Americas, one of the world's leading manufacturers, installers and service providers of vertical and horizontal transportation technology, announced that BUILDINGS magazine has selected its Geared to Gearless modernization system as a 2012 Money-Saving Product. Geared to Gearless is part of an elite group of 78 products that is showcased in the magazine's June 2012 issue.

ThyssenKrupp Elevator's gearless system works by using a high-efficiency motor directly integrated with the drive sheave, eliminating the geared assembly and achieving up to 95 percent machine efficiency. The Geared to Gearless solution includes a regenerative drive, which captures waste energy from the system, feeding it back into the building's power grid. This allows ThyssenKrupp's technology to help customers attain their own sustainability goals for energy reduction.

BUILDINGS serves over 74,000 building owners and professional facilities managers in North America. The monthly publication helps readers make smarter decisions relevant to the management, modernization, and operation of their facilities.
