Vinci builds exceptional structures in Poland

Warbud (Vinci Construction) has won the contract to build the new venue of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. The 35,000 sq. metre structure, whose architecture suggests a sheaf of sheet music, will house a 1,800-seat concert hall, a 300-seat chamber music auditorium, a music education room for children and a jazz club. The project also covers the area around the building, including an outdoor amphitheatre and green spaces. The works, with a value of €45.5 million, will take 20 months to complete.

Warbud will also build the "Plac Unii" complex in the centre of Warsaw. Plac Unii Lubelskiej is a major hub and a historic square that brings together two vibrant neighbourhoods, Śródmieście and Mokotow. The project, which covers a total surface area of 105,000 sq. metres, includes two 7-level buildings and a 90 metre, 21-level tower that takes architectural inspiration from the Flatiron Building, one of New York's first skyscrapers. A glass roof at a height of 30 metres will connect the three buildings. In addition to 41,000 sq. metres of office space, the "Plac Unii" complex will house a three-level, 15,500 sq. metre shopping centre with restaurants, cafés, shops and a supermarket. The works, with a value of €60 million, will be completed in 20 months.
