Paintindia 2012 with a more and more global face

Paintindia 2012, India's leading exhibition for paints, coatings, inks, construction chemicals and adhesives sealants industries, from February 23−25, 2012 in Mumbai, wowed as a coatings event of many faces. More than 10.000 attendees were pleased with the great number of product innovations that were showcased by the 286 exhibitors and the high quality of conference topics and speakers at the accompanying nine conference sessions. Additionally, this year's Paintindia presented itself with a more and more global face. The participation of international visitors was increased by 29 percent.

The Indian paint & coatings market is certainly one of the fastest growing segments in the global coatings industry. Orr & Boss, Inc. estimates that the size of the Indian coatings market was INR 200 billion in 2011. Roughly 70 percent of the market is represented by the decorative segment; the industrial coatings segment constitutes the remaining 30 percent.

The trade show not only doubled the exhibition space (2010: 4,700 sqm/ 2012: 9,500 sqm), but also increased the participation of exhibitors by 56 percent. 286 exhibitors (2010: 183) from 26 (2010: 19) countries showcased their products and services.It offered industry professionals a unique overview of the latest trends in raw materials, laboratory and production equipment and other services for the coatings and paint industry.

Visitors made their way from 54 countries to Mumbai. The main reasons for their visit were the search for new suppliers (68 %), the possibility of business alliances (52 %) and product information (49 %, multiple option entries).

The next Paintindia will take place in Mumbai from March 6−8, 2014.
