New reference in the technology of garage closing systems

It was the year 1961 when Silvelox presented at the Exhibition of Bolzano, its garage door VELOX. The first up-and-over garage door totally made of wood, with no tracks on the ceiling, self-lifting opening system and symmetric external and internal protrusion trajectory. During the following 50 years of production, the technology concept of this ingenious door has never been changed but many technical and quality improvements have been done. Silvelox in 2012 reaches its 51st year of history and has decided to present at Klimahouse exhibition in Bolzano a worldwide preview of a new reference in the technology of garage closing systems: the first sectional garage door without rails on the ceiling.

This innovative mechanical system joins the up-and-over and sectional systems which are already well known in the market, and is the invention of the founder Silvio Taddei with the support of the technical staff of Silvelox.

The mechanics are with balanced counterweights and the leaf is composed of two equal sized panels with 40 mm thickness. The rising trajectory is without any external protrusion and with a limited internal encumbrance. With open door, the passage height is reduced by 180 mm, while the occupied ceiling area is approximately half the height of the door.

The new garage door meets the performance requirements in terms of thermal insulation, noise reduction, wind and water resistance and burglar resistance. The production dimensions are the ones usually available in the garage doors market.

The range in terms of aesthetics, materials, finishes and accessories is under construction following Silvelox commitment to combine technology, design and customization, that have distinguished Silvelox in its first 50 years of history.
