| Quick fit hydraulic couplings  The safe, fast and economical connection of hydraulic lines plays an important role in mass produced products. Today, threaded screw con-nection and mounting systems have a negative effect on cycle time costs and process capability in mass produc-tion. To solve this problem, WALTHER-PRAZISION has engineered a more convenient, safe, fast and cost efficient quick coupling, the WALklick Series, which replaces conventional screw connections. On request, they can be delivered with crimp-on hoses as well. Currently, these couplings are successfully applied in vehicle modular and compact hydraulics, for hose diame-ters up to 12 mm, depending on the end connec-tion, and working pressures up to 280 bar. In mechanical and plant engineering they are used for hose diameters up to 25 mm.WALklick couplings provide a number of distinct advan-tages, particularly for large volume production. Today more than ever before, saving time and resulting re-duced costs, is essential in production and assembly lines, regarding for example pre-filled hydraulic sys-tems and hoses. Since it is possible to install the WALklick couplings without any tools and little space, with a simple "klick", this system offers its user ma-jor advantages right from the start, including savings in size and weight of the finished product. Shut-off valves prevent leakage during connection proc-ess, making it unnecessary to vent the hydraulic system so that an entire cost wasting step in the assembly process can be eliminated and the speed of the assembly lines is improved. The WALklick is available in brass, along with a through type (non-valved) version. Process safety is also gained by a non-interchangeable arrangement of supply and return lines. It is clearly visible if the coupling has been safely locked. Produc-tivity is enhanced; assembly process time and costs de-crease and improved end user ease of use and mainte-nance is enhanced as well. WALTHER-PRÄZISION provides these quick couplings in various versions. Being customer approved and certified for production and component requirements in the auto-motive industry, this system is already proven its time and cost saving advantages for large car and trailer manufacturers and automotive/industrial suppliers of modular component hydraulic systems. Some of key areas of application benefiting from WALk-lick in the automotive industry are: hydraulic control systems for convertibles, trunks and window regulators in the case of armoured vehicles. Brake hydraulics is also a main application area in the field of commercial vehicles and farm equipment. One of many examples in machine and plant engineering applications are connec-tions to valve controls for machine tools. Add to this several new applications in the alternative energy field such as solar panel and collector adjustments, or lubricating systems for wind turbine hydraulics the use and benefits can be far reaching.
