Hochtief Solutions to build bridge in Scotland

Hochtief Solutions as leader of a joint venture will build a large bridge and the related traffic connections over the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh. Together with its joint venture partners American Bridge International, Dragados (ACS Group) and Morrison Construction, the company has now been awarded the contract worth approximately EUR 950 million by Transport Scotland for the infrastructure project. Hochtief's share amounts to roughly EUR 300 million. Construction work will start this month and is scheduled for completion in 2016.

The Forth Replacement Crossing project includes a cable-stayed bridge with a total length of approximately two kilometers and two 650-meter spans. Beside construction of the bridge, the project also comprises the realization of the connecting structures north and south of the Firth of Forth. On total, almost seven kilometers of road infrastructure will be built without disrupting traffic. Upon completion, the new bridge will ease traffic on the existing Forth Road Bridge.
