FCC wins Toronto subway contract

Spanish environmental services and infrastructure group Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas, FCC, has won a €304 million contract to extend Toronto's subway. The project adds to FCC's recent win of subway projects in large cities worldwide including London's Crossrail.

The extension of the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension, includes the construction of a 4.5 kilometer-long subway section, with a depot area and three stations: York University Station, Steeles West and Highway 407 Station. The latter will be newly built and will also include a bus depot and an open-air car park with 600 parking places.

The Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension, will provide an extension for the existing Toronto Transit Commission subway system across the municipal boundary between the City of Toronto and The Regional Municipality of York.
