Synco living acquires consumption data of energy and water

Siemens Building Technologies Division complements its Home Automation System Synco living by two new central apartment units QAX903 and QAX913. They have been designed for intelligent control of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, lighting and blinds in apartments. The new products offer energy savings in apartments of up to 30 percent without loss of comfort and well-being. The two new models provide integrated acquisition of consumption data of energy and water – an interesting aspect for owners and administrations of rented apartments in multi-family houses.

Synco living – the energy-saving Home Automation System from Siemens' Building Technologies Division – now also offers consumption data acquisition and therefore benefits for renters and administrations of blocks of flats. The new Synco living central apartment units QAX903 and QAX913 collect the consumption data of heating and cooling energy, hot and cold water, gas and electricity acquired by M-bus or pulse meters. For administrations, the collection of consumption data is now simpler since the data can be read out via the internet for further handling. When tenants change, accounts can be sent out more quickly; this applies to the billing of annual extra costs as well because there is no more need to read out data on site.

The two central apartment units differ with regard to scope of functions. For areas of application where only HVAC control and acquisition of consumption data are required, Siemens offers the QAX903 as an affordably priced solution. The QAX913 provides additional functions for security and comfort in the form of contacts for monitoring doors and windows plus integrated fire and water detectors. What's more, the central apartment unit QAX913 allows occupants to conveniently operate blinds and to automatically control lighting with a choice of preprogrammed scenarios, simulation of presence and shock lighting.

Thanks to very accurate and demand-dependent individual room control plus a number of additional energy-saving functions, such as individually adjustable scheduler programs and setpoints, or absence function, Synco living helps cut energy usage of apartments by up to 30 percent without loss of comfort and well-being. This means that the system meets the requirements of efficiency class A for residential buildings as per EN 15232.

Since the central apartment units communicate with the peripheral devices based on communication standard KNX RF, and the majority of these devices are battery-powered, installation and operation of the system require only a small amount of cabling. As a result, Synco living can be easily extended and straightforwardly matched to changing requirements.
