Highland Slate roofing shingles offer authentic slate appearance

With its new Highland Slate roofing shingles, CertainTeed is equipping building professionals with a roofing option that combines the classic look of slate roofing with an unparalleled selection of vibrant color blends at an affordable value. Using proprietary precision color blending technology, each tab is individually colored to provide a striking, distinctive appearance in six vibrant colors — Black Granite, Fieldstone, New England Slate, Smokey Quartz, Venetian Red and Tudor Brown. The four-tab asphalt composite shingles measure 18 inches by 36 inches and are accented with dark shadow lines and a full 8-inch exposure. To accentuate its premium look, the shingles can be accented with CertainTeed's new Cedar Crest hip and ridge accessory.

"Highland Slate epitomizes rugged durability and toughness, blended with the old-world charm of natural slate roofing," says Paul Batt, director of product marketing for CertainTeed Roofing. "The shingles offer an excellent value without sacrificing the high-performance attributes homeowners expect."

Highland Slate is backed by CertainTeed's legacy of quality and innovation, as well as a lifetime limited warranty, 110 mile-per-hour wind warranty, 15-year algae-resistant warranty and a 10-year SureStart warranty. It meets ASTM E 108 for Class A fire resistance and UL 2390 for Class H wind resistance. An impact resistant version of Highland Slate is also available in four colors and meets the stringent UL 2218 for Class 4 impact resistance standards. The Cedar Crest hip and ridge accessory is also available in an impact resistant version and offers the perfect finishing touch.
