CertainTeed’s new High Temperature Blanket Insulation

CertainTeed Corporation is expanding its insulation offering by introducing its first High Temperature (HT) Blanket Insulation. Featuring an industry leading minimum of 60 percent recycled content and approved for applications up to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, CertainTeed's HT Blanket can be applied directly to any hot surface and brings exceptional thermal and acoustical performance to industrial equipment, panel systems, pipe fittings, vessels, boilers and tanks. Available in batts or rolls, HT Blanket is composed of rotary glass fibers bonded together using a thermosetting resin and formed into plain, flexible and resilient thermal insulation. It is easy to handle, cut and install and available in a variety of thicknesses, up to 4 inches.

"The HT Blanket helps strengthen our offering in industrial and process applications and improves CertainTeed's position as single source for all insulation needs," says Mike Lembo, senior product manager for CertainTeed's Mechanical and Industrial Insulation. "It complements our popular CrimpWrap Pipe and Tank Wrap and shows the depth of solutions and products that CertainTeed offers with excellent thermal performance and eco-friendly features."

CertainTeed's HT Blanket is fire and moisture resistant and is not susceptible to mold or bacterial growth. It is flexible, noncorrosive to steel and provides ideal sound absorption for acoustical comfort, as well as improving life safety in high temperature applications.

HT Blanket achieved ASTM C553 as a standard for mineral fiber thermal insulation and is another product in CertainTeed's product line that meets specifications for LEED-certified projects with the U.S. Green Building Council.
