Hochtief subsidiaries secure orders in US

German builder Hochtief said its subsidiaries Turner and Flatiron have received new orders in the US with a total value of EUR 284.4 million (USD 366.1 million). Turner was awarded three building construction projects - a casino, a children's hospital and a school - worth a total of EUR 176.1 million (USD 226.7 million). Flatiron secured five infrastructure projects for a combined volume of EUR 108.3 million (EUR 139.4 million).

Turner is to renovate and expand Harrah's Cherokee Hotel Casino in North Carolina for EUR 77.7 million (USD 100 million). Work is scheduled for completion by early 2013. In addition, the Hochtief subsidiary is to modernize St. Mary's Hospital for Children in New York by May 2013. This project is worth EUR 55.9 million (USD 72 million). Furthermore, the company will build a new school in New York City. The order, which has a value of more than EUR 42.5 million (USD 54.7 million), is to be completed in September 2013.

Flatiron is expanding Interstate 5 in Los Angeles: By 2014, the company will build two new bridges and over six kilometers of new high occupancy vehicle lanes for EUR 84.7 million (USD 109 million). Flatiron was also awarded one road project and three water projects in Utah and California with a value of EUR 23.6 million (USD 30.4 million).
