iDoor by Oikos: armour-plated doors enter interior design

The new star in the Oikos family in 2010 is the iDoor, an interior safety door that reproduces the innovative concept of the Synua (the first large dimension, customisable armour-plated door), and at the same time it interprets the aesthetic and applicative requirements of interior design which demands a vast assortment of colours, materials, combinations, finishes and dimensions. In the two versions, flush and coplanar, the iDoor blends perfectly into the context in which it is placed: in the flush version, iDoor lines up with the wall that accommodates it, while in the alternative coplanar installation, it is enhanced with a light surrounding frame.

In this way, the elegance, the lightness and luminosity of the lacquered glass is expressed in nine different shades of colour for solutions consisting of either a single panel or staves.

The mirrored door is also manufactured with staves as is that in acrylic stone, designed for contemporary technical furnishings in which the opaque white serves to emphasise the material effect and maintain the uniformity of the surfaces.

There are eleven different types of wood to choose from in order to adapt the iDoor to the most wide and varied of styles.

Among the leathers, strictly arranged in staves, there are six elegant finishes, especially designed to give the door and walls a unique attractiveness.

But iDoor is also lacquered. Proposed in nine different shades, it is also available in brushed or open pore lacquer finishes.

For moving from the day area to the night area, to the actual bedroom itself, from the caveau to the walk-in wardrobe, iDoor succeeds in satisfying the most disparate applicative requirements: it can transform a normal room into a security room, and remove the claustrophobic sensation experienced in a panic room thanks to the appropriate use of materials and colours.

The iDoor comes in various heights and finishes, all with extremely high technical standards as regards break-in resistance, acoustic insulation and fire resistance.

It does, in fact, have class 3 certification for break-in resistance.

The iDoor guarantees an acoustic insulation range of 36 to 40 dB.

Not less significant is the fire resistance rating. The iDoor is available EI 30 and EI 60.
