Hochtief announces new projects in US and Indonesia

Hochtief subsidiaries and their participating interests have secured further orders with a volume of EUR 244 million: The US subsidiary Turner has broken ground on the South Patient Tower of Fairfax Hospital in Virginia. The project is worth EUR 125 million (USD 161 million). Leighton Asia is to perform contract mining at the Martabe Gold Mine in Indonesia for EUR 119 million (USD 172 million). The contract runs to 2015.

The new hospital building will provide room for 174 patients and is being de-signed and built to achieve LEED Silver certification from the US Green Building Council after its completion in fall 2012. The Indonesian mine is located in North Sumatra Province. There, Leighton Asia's activities will include the construction of the mine infrastructure, mining gold and silver, topsoil removal and building roads. Preparatory work has already commenced.
