Adagio High CAC hybrid ceiling panel

CertainTeed is strengthening its portfolio of acoustical ceiling products through the introduction of Adagio High CAC, a sustainable composite ceiling panel that features the most superior acoustical performance in the market. The panel combines the sound absorption of high-density fiberglass with the sound containment qualities of mineral fiber, which contributes to an industry-leading NRC of 0.80 and a CAC of 40-42. "Through the addition of Adagio High CAC to our robust line of ceiling panels, CertainTeed is raising the bar on acoustics and is well-positioned to meet the needs of architectural and building professionals," says Graham Thayer, incoming vice-president and general manager for CertainTeed Ceilings. "Adagio High CAC ceiling panels contribute to a quieter, more comfortable work environment and are ideal for use in medical or doctor's offices, music rooms, and private offices that require a high level of privacy and acoustical control."

Adagio High CAC is rated a CLASS A product by the International Organization for Standards (ISO) 11654, the International Standard for Classification of Sound Absorbers, which ensures superior sound absorption across a wide range of frequencies. The optimal sound absorption and containment properties of the panels also eliminate the need for full height wall partitions, which can add complexity and cost to construction projects. Adagio High CAC also helps building occupants comply with privacy regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA).

In addition to its acoustical performance, Adagio High CAC offers a wide range of sustainable attributes that contribute to the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED accreditation and other green building programs. The panels feature a 62-percent recycled content and include BIOSHIELD, a treatment for added mold and mildew resistance. The panel's high light reflectance (0.90) on its Overtone offering increases the natural distribution of lighting, creating a more pleasant, energy-efficient interior environment. Throughout the manufacturing process, the use of energy, water, raw materials and other resources are optimized to reduce the overall environmental impact of the product.
