Porch posts and columns in new shapes and textures

CertainTeed Corporation is offering porch posts and columns in new shapes and textures that make a statement in outdoor living spaces. The new products include round and square PVC exterior columns as well as the addition of a new authentic woodgrain texture to Certa-Snap post wrap. "CertainTeed is offering new choices for outdoor applications to help create a personalized look for the exterior of a home," says Patti Pellock, senior marketing manager for CertainTeed's Fence, Railing and Deck business. "These new porch posts and columns complement CertainTeed's comprehensive line of railing products that are built on the tradition of low-maintenance, high-quality products."

The new structural columns have a larger diameter than existing porch posts in the product line and are compatible with Oxford, Kingston and EverNew vinyl railing products. The new shapes include Round tapered 8- and 10-inch, Round non-tapered 8-inch and Square 8-inch with coordinating cap and base trim sets. Available in a white color, all of the columns are sold in 108-inch lengths to accommodate a typical 9-foot porch height. The columns are aluminum reinforced for rigidity and strength, and load bearing up to 18,000 pounds. The PVC exterior eliminates the need to stain, seal or paint the column after installation, creating a complete low maintenance solution for porches and decks.

Certa-Snap Wrap is now available in Select Cedar finish to coordinate with the Edgewood railing system for a natural wood appearance and the low-maintenance benefits of vinyl. Available in white and almond colors, the components snap together for easy installation around existing wood porch posts. The eight-piece system consists of four vinyl post sections plus four corner trim pieces and is backed by a limited, lifetime warranty with SureStart parts and labor protection.
