Strabag wins contract in Poland

Strabag SE, Central and Eastern Europe's largest construction group and the market leader in the transportation infrastructure segment in Poland, announces a further success. The General Directorate for National Roads and Highways (GDDKiA) awarded Strabag the contract to build the 36.5 km section of the S7 Expressway between Kalsk and Miłomłyn approximately 100 km northwest of Warsaw.

Construction for the € 260 million (PLN 1.1 billion) contract will begin in March and is expected to end in July 2012. The works comprise the construction of the four-lane expressway, the conversion under traffic of the parallel DK7 road as well as the construction of 27 bridges, four service areas and three junctions. Construction will be carried out by the Strabag subsidiaries Strabag Polska (51 %) and Hermann Kirchner Polska (49 %).

With the new contract, Strabag further solidifies its leadership position on the Polish transportation infrastructure market and raises its total order backlog in Poland to approximately € 2.6 billion.
