DuPont SentryGlas brings unique qualities to an Italian home

For the restoration of a splendid private Italian villa, situated within the Parco del Ticino area (Piemonte Italy), the Studio Sandri architectural studio of Milan (Italy) chose to take advantage of the properties of DuPont SentryGlas, the structural interlayer for laminated glass. By virtue of its structural strength, vast panels of laminated glass have been incorporated into the design of the villa, facilitating an almost seamless continuity between the interior and exterior environments.

Both the simplicity and the rigorous geometry of the structure permitted an immense use of glazing in its design. The feeling of transparency and light is further conveyed and enhanced thanks also to the almost invisible fixtures used to secure the glass panels made with SentryGlas structural interlayers. The precise and autonomous volumes of the glazing distinguish themselves from other aspects of the building, providing light and a generous view of the surrounding landscape. The garden becomes a true extension of the living area: the large windows transferring the exterior magic and colour to the villa's interior in a symphony of strong, visual aesthetics.
