Eiffage Q3 sales down 1.1%

French construction firm Eiffage (FOUG.PA) said consolidated sales for the first 9 months of 2009 came to €9.9bn, equivalent with the same period in 2008, off by only 0.5%. In the third quarter, consolidated sales declined by 1.1%, marking an improvement compared with the 2.1% decrease recorded in the second quarter, particularly at the Concessions division, its sales increasing by 5.7%.

At the Contracting divisions, sales in the first 9 months came to €8.4bn compared with €8.5bn in the same period in 2008, down 0.8% at current consolidation scope and by 7% at constant consolidation scope and exchange rates, with a more pronounced decline abroad than in France.

The order book amounted to €9.6bn at 1 October 2009, a decrease of 3.1% year-on-year. It represents 10 months of activity at the Contracting divisions.
