Jacobs wins contract with University Health System of Bexar County

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that it received a contract from University Health System (UHS) of Bexar County, Texas, to provide Lead Program Management Services for the design and construction of two major health care projects. Officials estimate the construction value of both facilities to be nearly $900 million with a contract value estimated at $16.8 million.

University Health System's Target 2012: Capital Improvement program is the largest development project in its history. The program includes a plan to expand and renovate both the aging and overcrowded University Hospital and its largest outpatient clinic, University Health Center- Downtown. A new tower at University Hospital will double the size of the existing facility to approximately two million square feet. The hospital's two existing towers will be refurbished and incorporated into the design. The older of the towers was built in 1968.
