Expo Real expects around 1,600 exhibitors

Expo Real can expect around 1,600 exhibitors from 34 countries to take part in this 12th International Commercial Property Exposition, which is being held from 5 to 7 October 2009 in Munich.

Given these figures Expo Real will be occupying six halls with a total of 64,000 square metres of exhibition space. As such the fair is taking up one hall less than at the last event in 2008, but in terms of space it equals that achieved in the growth year of 2007 – despite the fact that this year we are in a recession. In line with this reduction in space, Expo Real 2009 is also seeing a decline in the number of exhibitors, of around 14 percent.

One benefit for Expo Real this year is the fact that it is taking place in the German property market, which is currently looking more robust than other markets. German participation this year is thus remaining stable, but there is a fall in the proportion of international exhibitors, of around 20 percent (last year: 26 percent), above all from the countries affected most by the crisis.

Joint stands in particular are popular this year at Expo Real. Here exhibitors from individual countries, regions or cities get together under one umbrella, to tap into synergies and save costs. The Turkish property market, for example, is represented for the first time at Expo Real 2009 at such a stand.

Despite the decline in participation from abroad, a whole series of exciting property markets will be presented at the fair. The biggest international joint stand will be the Holland Property Plaza. Also taking joint pavilions will be Austria, France, Luxembourg, Slovenia and Switzerland, and the cities and regions of Budapest, Vienna, Milan, St Petersburg and Moscow.
