gmp builds new parliament building in Vietnam

The architect's office von Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp) and the engineer enterprise Inros Lackner AG became generally accepted against international competition. On 26 February signed Professor Meinhard von Gerkan and Nikolaus Goetze of gmp as well as Otmar Haas of the Inros Lackner AG in presence of the Vietnamese Vice Building Minister, Cao Lai Quang, and German Ambassador, Rolf Schulze, the contract for the planning of the new parliament building in the area of the government administration of Hanoi. The planning begins immediately and in August the construction work for the 45,000 square meters large building complex starts. At the end of 2011 the parliament is to be open. Total investment costs are approx. 190 million euro.
