Imagina opens its doors

The year, Imagina, the 3D industry's foremost European event, confirmed its position as a major feature of the 3D world. With a 30% increase in the size of its exhibition area, it opened at the Grimaldi Forum on Wednesday. This year's success confirms what Laurent Puons, Imagina's General Manager, already observed at last year's event: 'The 3D industry is now an unstoppable force - its growth rates are phenomenal'.

Until 6th February, everyone who uses and works in 3D has access to a tailor-made programme of events that includes exhibitions, conferences, round table discussions, workshops and special features, all organised across the following four sectors:

* Architecture and Urbanism,
* Territory Planning,
* Industry,
* Media & Entertainment.

At the centre of a packed Exhibition Hall, the Industry sector, which made its first appearance at last year's Imagina event, now accounts for almost 40% of exhibitors. The Architecture, Urbanism, and Territory Planning sectors occupy an important place at the heart of this year's event, all featuring in the innovative Digital City Village.

Imagina also hosts the tenth DSC (Driving Simulation Conference), in partnership with Renault, round table Industry discussions and many other events – this year's programme is a testament to the organisers' emphasis on the business applications of 3D technology.

As part of its conference cycle, Imagina is hosting a VFX and Visualisation seminar for the first time. Primarily aimed at architects and urban designers, this unique event will also appeal to anyone who uses visualisation and every company that hopes to increase the impact of its films.
