Carillion reaches financial close on second new schools project

British support services group Carillion has reached financial close on a second project for Nottingham City Council to provide one of the first Academies to be procured via a Local Education Partnership (LEP).

The new £24 million Nottingham University Samworth Academy (NUSA) will be built on the site of the current William Sharp School on Bramhall Road, Bilborough, Nottingham and forms part of the £208 million Building Schools for the Future programme awarded to Carillion by Nottingham City Council in June 2008. Construction work will begin in February 2009 and the new Academy building will open in September 2010.
