First Al Wasl groundworks near completion

Middle Eastern real estate company Limitless said that earthworks are nearly complete on the first phase of Al Wasl, its US$12 billion, 1,400 hectare mixed-use community project near Riyadh, with more than 400 pieces of machinery on site for the final stages of ground levelling and clearance work.

Phase one of the project covers 310 hectares and will include 8,500 homes for 35,000 people, as well as mosques, offices, hotels, retail and education facilities, all connected by a convenient, environmentally-friendly transport system that will reflect the Limitless philosophy of moving people, not cars.

It is anticipated that Al Wasl will be constructed in five phases and, when complete, will have 55,000 homes accommodating more than 200,000 people; 300 hectares of green, open space; 55 mosques, eight malls, several hotels with conference facilities, offices, schools, a university and a hospital.
