Bilfinger Berger receives major orders in Australia

Bilfinger Berger has received major new orders in Australia with a total volume of €425 million. The group has been commissioned with comprehensive construction and conversion works at a military base near Adelaide. This project includes the building and modernization of staff headquarters, barracks, ancillary buildings and training grounds for an infantry battalion of 1,200 soldiers. The new facilities will be available in 2011. The client is the Australian Ministry of Defence.

In Spring Creek, Bilfinger Berger is carrying out the design and turnkey construction of a correctional facility with space for 350 prisoners. The order includes the execution of the entire infrastructure. The Queensland Department of Corrective Services project is based on a multiphase partnership contract model in which cost savings are divided between client and contractor. The construction period is 36 months.
