Piezoelectric-based wind power system

Renewable energy inventor, Rick Dickson, is touting his "Wind Tree", second generation, piezoelectric-based wind power system as an affordable way for suburban homeowners in moderately windy areas to benefit from wind produced electricity. The Wind Tree concept bio-mimics a real tree, using artificial piezoelectric leaves made from Advanced Fiber Composite materials. The Wind Tree looks like a real tree, but produces electricity right in a homeowner's back yard, which can then be either sold to the local power grid, or used as a back-up/auxiliary power supply. While the system is not cheap, it is affordable when life cycle costs, including repair and maintenance and power distribution costs are considered.
