Inexpensive way to add solar energy to your home

Solar energy should play a part in every home's energy economy. There are three ways one can take advantage of this renewable energy source in their home. Most common, photo-voltaic paneling is used to convert light into electricity. Photo-voltaic is the most expensive to integrate into your home. Next is solar water heat. This requires a plumber to install and might also freeze over in the cold if there is a leak US Solar Heating employs a third alternative, the solar air heater. Initial investment for solar air heaters can be as low as 13% that of solar electric and 50% of water heating.

The solar air heaters from US Solar Heating can produce up to 150 btu's per square foot of paneling when installed on a southern facing wall or roof. Standard sized panels are 12.6 square feet in area and produce up to 2000 btu's each. An array of just four panels can supply up to 8000 btu's to your home. That is energy your furnace no longer needs to provide which translates into savings on gas and oil bills. US Solar Heating can also build a custom sized air heating panel for your home.

The UV rays from the sun are what heats the panel. Air that is collected from the room circulates in the panel and then is transferred back into the space with the help of a thermostat activated fan. As the panel is insulated it remains hot whenever the sun is shining, even if the air outside is cold. This allows for minimum loss of energy and a zero maintenance system.
